I'd say research them, find out which one is best for the type of music you plan on creating, save up, and get the full version. Just because you could customize everything, it doesn't mean you need to. that's both in and out itself, AND compared to how good the program is. it's not something that you buy today, and then in 1 year decide that it's the worst crap in the universe and that i will not meet your means and you can't do anything about it.

The manual is beyond excellent, with lots of examples, and teaches you everything (and you mean everything) about the program in a plain language without giving anything for granted, and without trating the reader as an idiot. Cubase Pro 8.5 costs 460в‚¬ and again you got the educational discount which brings it down to 285в‚¬. But I think you still need that iLok usb thingy which I only heard bad things of. Pro Tools 11 costs around 570-600в‚¬ in Europe and even less for students. Logic Pro X only costs 200$ but you need a Mac. Maybe just base your decision on what you got right now (Windows or Mac). IMO for the regular home studio guy it's just about what DAW you like and enjoy because pro tools, cubase and logic are pretty much capable of doing everything you would need for simple home recordings.ДЄbleton and fruity loops seem to be a whole other story since they are afaik primarily built and used for/by electronic-music guys, not much recording. I got a good workflow going and I'm not missing any features that plugins couldn't give me, so no reason to switch (for me at least). Everything just seemed logical, intuitive and easy to look up, which is why I stuck with it.
